Thomas Schlück

Thomas Schlück (born November 24, 1943 ) is a German translator , editor and literary agent .

Life

Schlück started out as a translator and founded his literary agency in 1973. At the beginning he was mainly active in the field of fantasy , science fiction and crime literature , but today he looks after authors from all areas of literature, as well as illustrators . In 1997 his agency for literature and illustration was converted into a GmbH , in which his wife Eva Schlück and his son Bastian Schlück also work.

Schlück has translated works by Ray Bradbury , Henry Slesar , PD James , Keith Roberts , Isaac Asimov , Fritz Leiber , James White , Edgar Rice Burroughs , Jack Williamson , Poul Anderson , Harry Harrison , Jack Vance , Lyon Sprague de Camp , Frank Herbert , Roger Zelazny , Lin Carter , Christopher Priest , Tanith Lee , Michael Moorcock , Arthur C. Clarke , Denis Ronald Sherman , Kenneth Bulmer and others. He also published a sub-series with short story collections ( Galaxy , Vol. 10-14) in the science fiction series at Heyne Verlag towards the end of the 1960s, together with Walter Ernsting .
