Lars Thomas Sivertsson (born February 21, 1965 in Halmstad ) is a Swedish handball coach and former handball player .

Career

Thomas Sivertsson started handball at Halmstad HP IF. From 1988 he played for HK Drott , with whom he was four times Swedish champion. In 2000, the 1.95 meter tall circle runner moved to the Spanish ASOBAL league for BM Granollers . From 2001 he was under contract with the Danish first division club KIF Kolding , first as a player, later as an assistant coach and from 2008 to 2009 as a coach. During his time, KIF won the Danish championship five times. In the 2009/10 season Sivertsson coached the Polish club Wisła Płock . From October 2012 he was assistant coach of the Swedish women's national team . After Torbjörn Klingvall resigned as head coach of the Swedish team in December 2013, Sivertsson took over this position. He held this office until January 2016.

Thomas Sivertsson made 210 international appearances for the Swedish national team , in which he scored 460 goals. He was with Sweden 1999 world champion and 1998 , 2000 and 2002 European champion , and won at the Olympics in 1996 and 2000 respectively, the silver medal .
