Thomas White (athlete)
Thomas White ( Charles Thomas "Tom" White; born November 16, 1917 in Brigg , North Lincolnshire , † January 30, 1985 in Scunthorpe ) was a British middle-distance runner .
In 1946 he was at the European Athletics Championships in Oslo fifth over 800 m . At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he reached the semifinals over the same distance.
In 1950 he was starting for England at the British Empire Games in Auckland fifth over 880 yards and in the mile run . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was eliminated over 800 m in the semi-finals.
In 1947 he became English champion over 880 yards.
