Thomasin McKenzie (born July 26, 2000 in Wellington ) is a New Zealand actress .

Life

Thomasin McKenzie was born in the New Zealand capital Wellington in 2000 . Her mother is the actress Miranda Harcourt and her grandmother is the actress Kate Harcourt.

In the 2012 released film drama Existence of Juliet Bergh McKenzie received her first film role. In 2015, McKenzie got her first television role on the New Zealand soap Shortland Street, starring Pixie Hannah. She got her first leading role in a film in 2018 on the side of Ben Foster in Leave No Trace by Debra Granik . Ben Foster plays her father in the film.

She then got roles as Philippa von England in the film drama The King by David Michôd and as a persecuted Jew under National Socialism in the tragic comedy Jojo Rabbit by Taika Waititi .

At the end of June 2020, Thomasin McKenzie became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
