The Tiefenbeek is an almost 3 km long tributary of the Sieber , south of the village Sieber in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony . It rises at an altitude of 600 m on the Aschentalshalbe ridge . After briefly flowing northwest and west, the brook turns in a southwest direction, being separated from the Sieber by the Breitentalskopf . Then it turns to the north-northwest and flows into the Sieber at an altitude of about 320 m in the village of Sieber. The name Tiefenbeek comes from the fact of the depth of the Breitental and the Middle Low German name for Bach .
