ζ Tauri ( Zeta Tauri , ζ Tau ) is a Be star in the constellation Taurus . It has a mean apparent magnitude of 3.0 mag and is around 400 light years away. ζ Tauri is a spectroscopic binary star with an orbital period of 133 days.
In historical Chinese astronomy, his proper name is 天 關, Tien Kuan (also Tien Kwan , "the heavenly mountain pass"). Another proper name is Alheka (probably Arabic for "white spot").
As a star close to the ecliptic, ζ Tauri can be covered by the moon and (very rarely) planets.

The system is currently valid coverage changeable . According to the model of massive star 11.2 is M ☉ about 1 AE from companion with a mass similar to the sun . Little is known about the companion at the moment, but it could be spectral class G.
