The Tiergartenbach is a periodically flowing brook in the district of Aschaffenburg in the Bavarian Spessart . Hydrographically it is defined as the upper reaches of the Hafenlohr and can be viewed as a source stream or first tributary.

geography

course

The Tiergartenbach rises northwest of Rothenbuch in the Tiergartengrund at the sports fields at an altitude of approx. 380  m above sea level. NHN at the foot of the Eselshöhe ridge . It runs in a south-easterly direction to Rabenhausen, bends south and flows around the Tiergartenberg (439 m). The Tiergartenbach then flows through a pond northeast of the St. Nicholas Church . Behind the castle , at a right angle, the first inflow is the hundred-meter-long drain of the Hafenlohrquelle at the castle. It is the highest permanent pouring spring of the Hafenlohr.

The Tiergartenbach is richer in water than the spring at the castle, especially after heavy rain or when the snow melts , but in summer it has little and sometimes no water at all.
