Tigerbeat was a German rock band . From 1996 to 2006 it consisted of Frehn Hawel (vocals, guitar), Sven Elsner (drums), Daniel Schlott (guitar, synthesizer) and Stefan Nielsen (organ, synthesizer).
history
In 2000 the band performed at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin in the United States and was called the "loudest band of the festival".
The debut album No. 1 was released in 2002, the following year the second album, 13 songs, was released on LP by Buback , produced by Gregor Hennig and Daniel Holc ( Ascii.Disko ). The song Beat Me Till I Understand was also released as a remix by Ascii.Disko.
In 2003 Tigerbeat went on tour with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs . The band played at festivals like the Hurricane and Rock am Ring (2004) and performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands.
The band broke up in 2006, but came together again in 2013 for a concert in Hamburg as part of the Reeperbahn Festival . The keyboarder Stefan Nielsen has been playing in the band " Glacier " since 2005 , founded the band "Weareoff" with guitarist Daniel Schlott and the project "SHDWS" with producer Daniel Holc. Drummer Sven Elsner founded "The Building", singer Frehn Hawel first appeared in the duo "Neat Neat Neat" and then became the front man of the band "The Last Things".
style
The band described their style as "sophisticated sex rock", which was made up of indie rock with strong retro and blues references. The line-up with two guitars without bass was compensated by the band by amplifying the bass on the second guitar.
