Tilo Weber (* 1990 in Aachen ) is a German jazz and improvisation musician ( drums , composition ). He lives in Berlin .

Act

Weber studied drums at the Jazz Institute Berlin with John Hollenbeck from 2009 to 2014 and composition with Ruta Paidere at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater from 2015 to 2017 . During this time he was a scholarship holder of the Dr. EA Langner Foundation. In 2017 he took lessons in classical percussion with Bernhard Wulff in Freiburg.

Weber writes and drums for his own bands Animate Repose and Four Fauns (with Richard Koch , Hayden Chisholm and Andreas Lang ). He also plays in the David Friedman Generations Trio , in the trio of Clara Haberkamp , in the live line-up of the pop band And the Golden Choir and with Y-Otis . Collaborations with Greg Cohen , Peter Brötzmann , Rudi Mahall , Chris Dahlgren , Tobias Siebert and the NDR Bigband have led to performances at numerous festivals such as JazzBaltica . Weber has also worked as a theater musician since 2017 and is involved in the productions "Panikherz" and "Eine Familie" by Oliver Reese at the Berliner Ensemble . He can also be heard on albums by Laura Winkler , Simon Kanzler and Jona Bird.
