Tim Lefebvre (born February 4, 1968 in Foxborough ) is an American bass guitarist . His musical sound spectrum ranges from jazz and funk to rock music and blues to electronics and drum 'n' bass .

Lefebvre, who never attended music school, lived in New York City between 1993 and 2011 and has worked in Hollywood ever since. Both as a session musician and a band member, he has worked with a wide variety of musicians including David Bowie , Elvis Costello , Sting , Empire of the Sun , Wayne Krantz , Patti Austin , John Mayer , Jovanotti , Chuck Loeb , Mark Guiliana , Jamie Cullum , Chris Botti , Knower , Till Brönner or Zhenya Strigalev . He was also a member of the Tedeschi Trucks Band from 2013 to 2018 . Lefebre is married to the singer-songwriter and keyboardist Rachel Eckroth.
