Tim S. Weiffenbach

Tim S. Weiffenbach (born December 31, 1968 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German illustrator .

Life

After graduating from the Free Waldorf School in Frankfurt in 1988 and completing his civil service, Tim S. Weiffenbach studied visual communication at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences from 1991 to 1995 . He completed his diploma with a focus on illustration with Ute Osterwalder. Today he lives and works in Steinbach (Taunus) . His clients include advertising agencies, publishers and direct customers.

Tim Weiffenbach is a founding member and was chairman of the illustrators' organization from 2004 to 2014 and is the initiator of the Frankfurt regional group. In 2005 he was a jury member for the illustration anthology Freistil 2 - Best of commercial Illustration .

Since 2008 he has been a lecturer in the illustration department at the Academy of Visual Arts in Frankfurt am Main. In 2009, at the invitation of Werner Holzwarth , he took on a teaching position for illustration at the Bauhaus University Weimar .

Since the end of 2009 he has been a permanent member of the editorial team at freistil-online.de, the German online portal for illustration. In 2012, at the invitation of designaustria, he was a member of the jury for the renowned Joseph Binder Awards . In 2013 Tim Weiffenbach acted as a jury member for the 3rd “Rüsselsheim Illustration Prize”, as part of the events of the illust_ratio series and at the international Tschuttiheftli competition in Switzerland. In 2015, at the invitation of the “Association of Illustrators” (AOI), he took over the jury work in the “research and knowledge communication” section of the World Illustration Awards.

In 2007 Weiffenbach became an honorary member of the Society of Illustrators New York, USA. In 2015 he was made an honorary member of the Illustratoren Organization eV.
