Timiaouine ( Arabic ﺗﻴﻤﻴﺎوﻳﻦ, Tuareg-Berber ⵜⵉⵎⵢⴰⵡⵉⵏ ) is a city in southern Algeria near the border with Mali and belongs to the province of Bordj Badji Mokhtar .

geography

Timiaouine is located at an altitude of 582  m in the northern Adrar des Ifoghas , a mountain range in the Sahara that extends to Kidal in Mali . Large boulders made of sandstone to the west and north of the city are typical of the area.

Timiaouine is the end of the national road 6 , which connects the city with Bordj Badji Mokhtar and further north with Adrar .
