Timmy Pettersson (born March 15, 1977 in Gislaved ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active for many years for Västra Frölunda , Södertälje SK and Djurgårdens IF in the Elitserien . He also completed a season in the ERC Ingolstadt jersey from the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Timmy Petterson comes from the junior division of Gislaveds SK . He later played for the junior team of Västra Frölunda , for whose professional team he was active from 1995 to 2002 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish division. In his rookie year , the 1995/96 season, he was runner-up with his team. In the summer of 2002, the defender moved to HV71 from Jönköping , which he left after one and a half years during the 2003/04 season to sign with Södertälje SK , while HV 71 was Swedish champions at the end of the season .

After the descent Södertäljes following the 2005/06 season , Pettersson stayed in the Elitserien and signed with the capital club Djurgårdens IF , for which he was on the ice in the following four years and with whom he was runner-up in 2010. For the 2010/11 season , the Swede was signed by the Russian club Severstal Tscherepowez from the Continental Hockey League . For this he scored three goals and eight assists in 30 games. For the following season he joined the ERC Ingolstadt from the German Ice Hockey League .

International

For Sweden Pettersson took part in the Junior European Championship in 1995 and the Junior World Championship in 1997 . At the European Championships, he won the bronze medal with his team. He played a total of eleven junior internationals for his country, in which he gave three assists.
