Reinhold Richard Unterberger (born February 7, 1853 in Widminnen , Kr. Lötzen , Province of East Prussia ; † December 31, 1920 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German gynecologist in Königsberg i. Pr.

Life

Unterberger attended the Kgl. Lyck High School . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the Albertus University in Königsberg from 1872 to 1876 . Like many high school graduates at his school, he became active in the Corps Masovia in the summer semester of 1872 . In 1878 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . Until 1885 he was employed as an assistant doctor at the University Women's Clinic in Königsberg. After training as a gynecologist at the Königsberg University Women's Clinic, he settled in Königsberg as a gynecologist in 1885. From 1891 he devoted himself exclusively to a gynecological and obstetric practice with his own private clinic. In 1897 he took over the management of the department for women's diseases at the Hospital of Mercy on the Hinterroßgarten . At the turn of the century he reported on the first years of the Königsberg University Women's Clinic. In 1901 he received the certificate of appointment as honorary professor from Empress Auguste Viktoria . In the same year the Crown Prussia appointed him to go. Medical Council . During the First World War , Unterberger had to take over the duties of a chief physician at Mercy again.

Until his death he was in charge of the old rulers of his corps. It was thanks to him that Masovia was the first student union in Königsberg to acquire its own corp house in 1898/99 . Located in Kneiphof on the old Pregel near Königsberg Cathedral , it was built in 1711 as a grant house for the Groeben .

The Königsberg gynecologist Franz Unterberger was a nephew.
