Timo Lange (born January 19, 1968 in Grevesmühlen ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach .

Career as a player

The Grevesmühlen BSG unit started with football for a long time . He came to BSG Stahl Brandenburg in the summer of 1986 through the offspring of Hansa Rostock (1980 to 1984) and TSG Wismar , where he moved up to the 1st team at the age of 17 . Here he completed a total of 102 league games (12 goals) by 1991. In the 2: 2 against SG Dynamo Dresden on the 8th match day of the 1986/87 season, Lange made his debut in the top division of GDR football eleven minutes before the end of the game. On the international stage, Lange played three times in the UEFA Cup (two games for Stahl and one for the HFC) as well as ten games for the GDR's U-21 team .

Before the 1991/92 season he moved to Halleschen FC , but could not make the leap into the single-track 2nd Bundesliga with the team. In the summer of 1992 he went to FC Hansa Rostock, where he made promotion to the 1st Bundesliga in 1994/95 under Frank Pagelsdorf . Until 2003, Lange played 165 games for Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga , scoring 13 goals. He is still the record player for the Hanseatic League in the highest German soccer league. In addition, Lange completed 110 second division games for Rostock, in which he scored 18 goals, and let his career end in 2003/04 in the Northeast Football League with the Rostock amateur team .

Career as a coach

At the beginning of the 2004/05 season, Lange took over the coaching position of the Rostock amateur team, with whom he was the state cup winner of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and champion of the Oberliga Nordost (relay north) in his first coaching season . From August 2005 he was assistant coach with the professionals of FC Hansa under head coach Frank Pagelsdorf in the second Bundesliga. After Rostock was promoted to the Bundesliga with this coaching team in 2006/07 and relegated directly again in the 2007/08 season, Pagelsdorf and Lange were relieved of their offices after the twelfth matchday of the 2008/09 season due to lack of success.

In March 2009, Lange became a trainer and manager in personal union at FC Anker Wismar in the association league . He reached 1st place in the 2009/10 season and was promoted to the NOFV-Oberliga Nord . Lange got off to an excellent start with the newcomer and achieved sixth place in the league table, while Anker Wismar reached the final against Hansa Rostock in the state cup .

In the 2012/13 season, FC Anker Wismar was beaten after 18 game days on the last place in the table in the NOFV Oberliga Nord , whereupon Lange was replaced as coach by Christiano Dinalo Adigo on April 11, 2013 .

Further career

After leaving the soccer business, Timo Lange runs two drugstores in Rostock-Toitenwinkel and Warin .
