Timon Haugan comes from Oppdal south of Trondheim . A few days after his 15th birthday, he contested his first FIS races in Oppdal . On December 5, 2015, he entered the European Cup with the Trysil giant slalom , but was unable to win any points in his first season. At the Junior World Championships in Sochi , he won the bronze medal with the Norwegian team . After he had achieved six placements in the top 30 in his second European Cup season, he competed in all five disciplines at his second Junior World Championship in Åre . In the giant slalom he won the silver medal behind Loïc Meillard , in the combined he finished fifth. At the end of the season he was Norwegian runner-up in a strong slalom race and only had to admit defeat to Henrik Kristoffersen .
On December 22, 2017, Haugan made his World Cup debut in the Madonna di Campiglio slalom and won points straight away with 24th place. Another place in the points he succeeded towards the end of the season as 25th in Kranjska Gora . On March 10, 2018, he won a European Cup race for the first time in Berchtesgaden . In the 2018/19 European Cup season, he was third overall and second in the slalom classification. After several good placings, he achieved his first podium in the World Cup on February 8, 2020 with second place in the Chamonix slalom .
