Tina Robnik (born July 30, 1991 in Luče ) is a Slovenian ski racer . Her strongest disciplines were initially downhill and super-G as well as super combination . After a vertebral injury, she has only started in slalom and giant slalom since 2012 .

Career

Robnik competed in her first FIS races in December 2006 and achieved her first podium positions at the beginning of next winter. Since the 2008/2009 season she has also competed in the European Cup , but has not yet won any points in the entire winter. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , after failures in the Super-G and the giant slalom, she remained without a result, but became the Slovenian Junior Champion in the Super-G in the same month. Due to illness, she did not get into racing until January of the 2009/2010 season. As a result, she took part almost exclusively in FIS races and only in one European Cup race this winter. She did not start at the 2010 Junior World Championships.

In the 2010/2011 season there was a clear upward trend in the results of the Slovenian. One week after her first victories in FIS races, she achieved second place in the Kvitfjell European Cup Super Combined on December 4, 2010, scoring for the first time in this racing series. A week later, she started her first World Cup in the giant slalom in St. Moritz . So far, however, she has remained unsuccessful in her few World Cup races. It went better in the European Cup: After several top 10 results, she was on the podium again on January 25, 2011, as second in the Pila Super-G . Two days later, she celebrated her first victory in the downhill at the same place. Shortly afterwards, however, the season for Robnik was over. She had a bad fall during downhill training at the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana on January 30th and broke three vertebrae . She then had to take a break for most of the next winter and did not take part in races again until March 2012.

Since her injury, Robnik has concentrated on the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. However, it took several years before she found the connection to the expanded world elite again. She won her first World Cup points on December 12, 2015 with 15th place in the giant slalom in Åre . Tina Robnik achieved her best results so far in the giant slalom in Sölden on October 28, 2017 with ninth place and on January 6, 2018 in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora with seventh place.
