Tina Soliman (* 1966 ) is a German journalist , author , television producer , television director and editor .

Life and professional history

Tina Soliman studied German, Romance studies and political science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1985 to 1991 . She completed a traineeship at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and then worked there as an editor. Afterwards she worked for the ARD culture report and political magazines such as Panorama , Kontraste , Fakt and Report Mainz .

In 1993 she founded the production company soliman lapp dokumentation with the cameraman Torsten Lapp . Since then she has been working as a regular author for the ZDF series "37 Grad". She has also been working for NDR since 2006 , producing documentaries for ARD and articles for the political magazine Panorama .

In 2011 Soliman published the non-fiction book Funkstille at Klett-Cotta . When people break off contact . Her second book, Der Sturm vor der Stille: Why people break off contact at Klett-Cotta , was published in September 2014 . In September 2019, the third volume of her trilogy of disappearing, Ghosting: On the disappearance of humans without a trace in the digital age .

For the debate volume “The Open Society and Their Friends” (Fischer Verlag) by Harald Welzer u. a. she wrote a contribution as the author of the series: "How do we want to live?"

Awards

In 1996 she was awarded the media prize of the free welfare organization for her contribution to the contrasts film children second class .

Her documentary Grausames Glück, When Birth and Death Meet , was awarded the Catholic Media Prize of the German Bishops' Conference in 2004.

The Federal Association for Children with Heart Disease awarded her 1st prize in 2009 for the ARD documentary Ein Herz für Lilli .

Your broadcast on ZDF documentation sentenced to Marriage was from Amnesty International to the 6th Marler Television Award for Human Rights Award in 2011 in the area of documentation domestically. The jury justified their decision as follows: The contribution is so special because it not only reflects the topic of forced marriage, but rather shows exit strategies for those affected and encourages young people. In the same year the film was nominated for the CIVIS Media Prize for Integration and Cultural Diversity in Europe .

Your ARD documentary "SEX - Made in Germany" (camera: Torsten Lapp) was awarded a silver medal at the "New York Festivals" 2014 in the "Current Affairs" category. "SEX - Made in Germany" was also at the 54ème Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo nominated for the "Nymphe d'Or" and for the "Prix Europa" in Berlin 2014. Television productions from all over the world are presented in the competitions. The film was also nominated for the Juliane Bartel Prize 2013 and came among others. a. for screening at the Montreal World Film Festival .

In 2016 she was nominated for the media prize of “Kindernothilfe” 2016 for the contribution: “Germany 1945, Syria 2015”, broadcast on PANORAMA (ARD). This contribution was also nominated for the 10th MARLER MEDIA PRIZE HUMAN RIGHTS 2017 TELEVISION, awarded by Amnesty International.

Soliman's ARD documentary “Einsame Spitze. Top-Manager am Limit “was nominated in 2017 for the Ernst Schneider Prize for best business journalism.

For the special journalistic achievement of her reporting on the G20 summit (NDR / ARD) she won the Grimme Prize 2018 with her colleagues from “Panorama”.
