Titular diocese of Castro di Puglia
Castro di Puglia ( Latin : Castrum in Apulia ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to a lost bishopric in the municipality of Castro , which is located in the south-eastern Italian region of Apulia , and which was assigned to the ecclesiastical province of Otranto . In addition to the city of Castro, the places Andrano , Castiglione , Cerfignano , Cocumola , Diso , Marittima , Nociglia , Ortelle , Poggiardo , Santa Cesarea , Surano , Spongano , Vaste , Vignacastrisi e Vitigliano belonged to the territory of the diocese .
In 1818 the diocese was dissolved and the diocesan area was annexed to the Archdiocese of Otranto.
