Titular diocese of Syene
Syene ( Italian : Siene ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an earlier diocese of the ancient city of Syene in the Roman province of Aegyptus or in late antiquity Thebais in Upper Egypt , which belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Ptolemais .
