Tobias Birchler (born July 29, 1997 ) is a Swiss ski jumper .

Career

Birchler, who starts for SC Einsiedeln , made his international debut in junior show jumping in 2002. He quickly showed good performances and was fourth in Hinterzarten in August . In January 2012 it was used for the first time in the Alpencup at the same location. Birchler finally contested his first competition in the FIS Cup in October 2012 in Einsiedeln .

In September 2013 Birchler received a starting place within the first ski jumping Continental Cup of Klingenthal . After the disqualification in the first competition, he reached the 53rd place in the second competition. Since he did not win any points, he remained in the C-squad and continued to compete in the FIS and Alpine Cups.

At the Swiss Ski Jumping Championships 2013 in Chaux-Neuve , France , Birchler won his second Swiss championship title together with Pascal Sommer , Andreas Schuler and Pascal Kälin . He also secured the title in the junior class. In December, Birchler was used again in the Continental Cup in Engelberg . However, he was again without points.

At the 2014 Junior World Championships in Val di Fiemme , he achieved seventh place with the team in team jumping. In the summer of 2014 he was nominated again for the Continental Cup in Wisła , but with two 41st places he also missed the points twice.

For the 2014/15 season, Birchler was again nominated for the C-squad.
