Tobias Elsäßer (* 1973 in Stuttgart ) is a German author , singer and songwriter for children and young people . He grew up in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and lives in Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Career

As a child Elsäßer was already active as a singer and in 1985 took on a leading role in the children's musical Max and Moritz. From 1992 to 1995 he sang in the band "Chase the Bird". In the meantime he completed his Abitur in 1993 and vocal training with Peter Amadeus Schneider and Dalila Kretschmer . From 1994 to 1996 he completed a commercial apprenticeship before he was active as a member of the boy band Yell 4 You from 1996 to 1998 .

In 1998 Elsäßer took on an internship at the television broadcaster B.TV for two years . In the same year he got a record deal with EMI . Since 1999 Elsäßer has worked as a freelance journalist for the Sat.1 Nachrichten , B.TV, the Evangelical Broadcasting Service Baden , the Bietigheimer Zeitung and the youth magazine JO. In 2000 he was involved in the development and production of the youth TV show Megabyte. Until 2002 Elsäßer also worked as a singing lecturer at the school for pop singing “Go Vocal” in Stuttgart. For Sony he developed the vocal software Popvoice.

In 2004 Tobias Elsäßer presented his partly autobiographical debut novel Boygroup . In his subsequent youth books Ab ins Paradies (2007), Maybe America (2008), Abspringen (2009), For Nobody (2011), How I Almost Became Famous, he stages the connection between music , literature and language .
