Tobias Lindner , Member of the Bundestag (born January 11, 1982 in Karlsruhe ) is a German economist and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Europa-Gymnasium in Wörth am Rhein , Lindner did his civil service at the State Institute for Environmental Protection Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe and studied technical economics at the University of Karlsruhe from 2002 to 2007 . Since 2007 he has been working as a research assistant at the Chair for Economic Theory of the Institute for Economic Theory and Statistics and in 2011 was awarded a PhD with his thesis On the Manipulability of the Allocation of Public Goods - Theoretical Analysis and Simulation Results. rer. pole. PhD. Lindner lives in Wörth am Rhein.

In the 2013/14 winter semester he was a lecturer in the seminar “Concepts of Economic Theory and their Application to Economic Policy Decisions” at the Chair of Economic Theory of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Lindner has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1998 and joined the Green Youth in 1999 . In 2000 he was elected spokesman for the state board of the Green Youth Rhineland-Palatinate and from 2002 to 2004 he took over the office of assessor on the board of the district association Germersheim. Since November 2004 Lindner has been leading the district association of Germersheim and the city association of his hometown Wörth and was nominated as a direct candidate for the German Bundestag in 2005 and 2009 . In January 2007 he joined the district council of the district of Germersheim and worked there until July 2011. From 2009 to June 2011, Lindner was a member of the Wörth am Rhein city council and chairman of the district parliamentary group. Lindner has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2011.

June 2019 Cem Özdemir and Lindner attended the service Lichen event information for civilian leaders of the Armed Forces on Training Center Munster and contributed for a week to rank First Lieutenant . In June 2011, Lindner succeeded Ulrike Höfken as a member of the German Bundestag via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list. Since then, Lindner has been a member of the Budget Committee and Audit Committee as well as a deputy member of the Defense Committee in the 17th electoral term. On March 27, 2012, Lindner was elected spokesman for economic policy in the Bundestag parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and was henceforth a member of the committee for economics and technology. Furthermore, he took over the office of the deputy chairman of the German-Irish parliamentary group and the deputy chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate state group of Green members of the Bundestag. On December 1, 2012, Lindner was elected to second place on the state list for the 2013 federal election at the state delegates' assembly of his party. In 2013 and 2017 he was re-elected to the Bundestag via the state list.

In the 18th electoral term of the German Bundestag, Lindner was chairman of the Bundestag faction Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the budget committee, a full member of the defense committee and the audit committee. He is also a deputy member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He was deputy chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate state group of the Greens in the Bundestag.

Tobias Lindner has been a member of the Senate of the Deutsche Industrieforschungsgemeinschaft Konrad Zuse since March 2015 .

In the 19th electoral term of the German Bundestag, Lindner is spokesman for security policy and chairman of the Bundestag faction Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the defense committee , a member of the budget committee , the trust committee for the secret budgets of the federal intelligence services and deputy chairman of the audit committee. He is also a deputy member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and deputy chairman of the German-Canadian parliamentary group. Lindner has taken over the chairmanship of the regional group for the Rhineland-Palatinate Green MPs.

Lindner has been a member of the committee of inquiry into the consultant affair since 2019 .

Lindner is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process.
