Career

The midfielder Tobias Schäper began his career in the youth of Hammer SpVg and later moved to Borussia Dortmund . From 1998 to 2000 he played for the second team of Borussia in the Regionalliga before he moved to the second division Arminia Bielefeld . Schäper made his second division debut on October 27, 2000 when Arminia lost 3-2 at SSV Reutlingen 05 . In total, he came to three second division games for Bielefeld, with which he was promoted to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2002 without having been used. At the same time, his expired contract was not extended.

After six months without a club, he joined the upper division club BV Cloppenburg before moving on to the regional division Prussia Münster in the summer of 2003 . After two years in Münster, Schäper then went to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , with whom he was relegated from the regional league. In summer 2006 he moved to Holstein Kiel and at the end of the season had to relegate his team to the regional league again. Schäper was then again half a year without a club and returned to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen for the second half of the 2007/08 season. With the Oberhausen team he made it to the 2nd Bundesliga before ending his career.

With the German U-18 national team , Tobias Schäper became Vice European Champion in 1998 . Schäper played in the final with later national players such as Timo Hildebrand , Fabian Ernst , Sebastian Deisler and Sebastian Kehl .
