Death David Brown (born November 15, 1936 in San Francisco , California , USA ) was Bishop of Orange in California .

Life

Death David Brown was born in San Francisco, the first of two children. He attended several schools in Northern California. During his training as a priest, Brown lived at Ryan Seminary in Fresno , St. John's Seminary in Camarillo and the Pontifical North American College in Rome , where he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University .

Brown was ordained a priest for the diocese of Monterey-Fresno on May 1, 1963 . Here he worked as a vicar and pastor; he also headed the Worship Commission, Presbytery , Retired Priests Committee, and Education Committee. Brown was also vicar general of the diocese.

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Boise City on December 27, 1988 .

The Archbishop of Portland, Oregon , William Joseph Levada , ordained him bishop on April 3 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Sylvester William Treinen , Old Bishop of Boise City, and Thaddeus Anthony Shubsda , Bishop of Monterey, California .

He was named Bishop of Orange, California , on June 30, 1998, and was installed in office on September 3. On September 21, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.

Brown's motto is Come Lord Jesus ("Come, Lord Jesus") and comes from the Revelation of John ( Rev 22.20  EU ).
