Michael Patrick Driscoll (born August 8, 1939 in Long Beach , California - † October 24, 2017 in Boise , Idaho ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Boise City .

Life

The Archbishop of Los Angeles , James Francis Aloysius Cardinal McIntyre , ordained him a priest on May 1, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in Orange, California and Titular Bishop of Maxita on December 19, 1989 . He received episcopal ordination from the Bishop of Orange in California , Norman Francis McFarland , on March 6 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Thomas Joseph Connolly , Bishop of Baker , and John Steinbock , Bishop of Santa Rosa, California .

He was named Bishop of Boise City by John Paul II on January 18, 1999, and he was instituted on March 17 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 4, 2014.
