Tolga Zengin (born October 10, 1983 in Hopa , Artvin ) is a Turkish football goalkeeper . Most recently he was under contract with Besiktas Istanbul .
Career
societies
Zengin began his club career in the youth of Trabzon İdmanocağı and switched to the youth of Trabzonspor in 1998 . In 2002 he received a professional contract with Trabzonspor, but played for the reserve team for about two seasons. For the 2004/05 season he was then included in the squad of the professional team and completed two first division games in his first season.
In the middle of the 2006/07 season he won a regular place and kept it for about one and a half seasons. It was only in the 2008/09 season that he lost his regular place to the new team member Onur Kıvrak . The following seasons he competed with Kıvrak for the place of the goalkeeper.
On July 25, 2013, Zengin moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul for a transfer fee of 2.75 million euros .
National team
He was in over 60 international matches in the squad of the Turkish junior national teams. In August 2006 he was allowed to guard the goal of the Turkish national team in a friendly against Luxembourg .
At the European Football Championship in 2008 he was the third goalkeeper in the squad of the Turkish national team. Before the semi-final against Germany, coach Fatih Terim said that he might use Tolga as an outfield player due to the Turks' personal shortage due to injuries and bans. However, that did not happen.
