Tomáš Pekhart (born May 26, 1989 in Sušice ) is a Czech football player who is currently under contract with Legia Warsaw .

Career

societies

Tomáš Pekhart started playing football at the age of five with TJ Sušice. From the beginning he towered over his teammates and often played an age group higher. In the 2002/03 season he was awarded to TJ Klatovy and the top scorer of his team, which played in the highest Czech league for C-youths. The talented striker also made it into the Pilsen region selection . As a result, both Viktoria Pilsen and Slavia Prague reported interest in the attacker, with Pekhart ultimately moving to the capital club.

At Slavia, too, Pekhart was often the top scorer of his team. In 2005 he was voted Talent of the Year in the Czech Republic in the B youth category.

In the summer of 2006, Pekhart moved to Tottenham Hotspur and signed a three-year contract in London . In the 2006/07 season, Pekhart scored 19 goals in 20 games for the Tottenham Hotspur Academy junior team. The 17-year-old was used twelve times for the reserve team. The striker also played for the Tottenham Hotspur Reserves in the 2007/08 season. In the summer of 2008, Pekhart prepared with the professional team for the new season. In the friendly against the Spanish club Tavernes on July 14, 2008, he scored two goals. Nevertheless, he had a difficult time against the strong competition. Therefore, he moved on August 26 on loan until January 2009 to the second division FC Southampton .

The striker then returned to Tottenham. In February 2009 he was loaned to Slavia Prague. Due to injury problems, he only played 13 games for Slavia, in which he scored twice. In January 2010, Pekhart was signed by FK BAUMIT Jablonec . After showing consistently good performances in Jablonec, he was loaned out by record champions Sparta Prague during the 2010/11 winter break .

In the summer break of 2011, Pekhart moved to 1. FC Nürnberg . The striker was awarded a four-year contract and scored nine goals in his first Bundesliga season. In August 2014, the Czech moved to league rivals FC Ingolstadt 04 .

After he could not establish himself as a regular player in Ingolstadt, he moved to Greece for AEK Athens in February 2016 . For the Athenians, Pekhart scored 48 competitive games, 15 goals and one assist.

On July 23, 2017, Pekhart moved to Hapoel Be'er Scheva in Israel's first division, Ligat ha'Al . For the 2018/19 season he moved to the Spanish second division UD Las Palmas , where he signed a two-year contract.

National team

In September 2004 Pekhart was called up for the first time in the Czech U-16 team and crowned his debut in a 3-1 win against Slovakia with a goal. Since then, the attacker has been regularly appointed to the junior teams of the Czech Football Association and has been an integral part of his country's U-21 national team . In 2010 he also made his debut in the senior national team of his home country.
