The Segunda División 2018/19 (officially LaLiga 1 | 2 | 3 ) was the 88th season of the Spanish second division. The season started on August 17, 2018 and ended on June 23, 2019 with the final of the play-offs. Master became CA Osasuna .

Before the season

The 22 teams met twice on 42 match days. The two best teams went straight to the Primera División . The teams in places three to six determined the third promoted team in the play-offs. Reserve teams were not eligible for promotion. The last four clubs were relegated.

Relegated from the Primera División took Deportivo La Coruna , UD Las Palmas and FC Málaga in part. Moved up from the Segunda División B were RCD Mallorca , the Rayo Majadahonda , Elche CF and Extremadura UD .

    1CF Reus was banned from gaming for three years in January 2019 due to the month-long delay in player salary payments and was also forced to relegate. The first 21 games were played regularly, but all subsequent games were counted 1-0 for the respective opponent.

    Promotion play-offs

    In the play-offs, the teams took part in places three to six of the regular season. In the semifinals, the sixth met the third (June 12 and 15, 2019) and the fourth met the fifth (June 13 and 16, 2019), the two winners played against each other in two finals (June 20 and 23, 2019) . The winner qualified as the third promoted player for the Primera División 2019/20 .
