The Segunda División 1963/64 was the 33rd season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 15, 1963 and ended on April 26, 1964. Between June 7 and June 30, 1964, the relegation games were played. Champions were Deportivo La Coruña and UD Las Palmas .
Before the season
The 32 teams were divided into two groups of 16 teams each. The two group winners were promoted directly to the Primera División . The two runners-up played against the 13th and 14th of the Primera División for promotion.
The last two clubs in each group were relegated directly, while the teams in positions 13 and 14 fought relegation against relegation.
Relegated from the Primera División took RCD Mallorca Deportivo La Coruna , Osasuna and CD Málaga in part. From the Tercera División came CD Abarán , Algeciras CF , Atlético Ceuta , FC Badalona , CD Europe , CE L'Hospitalet and Ontinyent CF .
