The Segunda División 1973/74 was the 43rd season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 2, 1973 and ended on May 26, 1974. The relegation games were played between June 9 and 16, 1974. Master was Betis Sevilla .
Before the season
The 20 teams met twice on 38 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División .
The last four clubs were relegated directly, the teams in places 13 to 16 had to fight relegation against relegation.
Relegated from the Primera División took Betis Sevilla , Deportivo La Coruna and Burgos CF part. From the Tercera División came UD Levante , Linares CF , CD Ourense and UD Salamanca .
