The Segunda División 2006/07 (officially Liga BBVA ) was the 76th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on August 27, 2006 and ended on June 17, 2007 with the 42nd game day. Champion was Real Valladolid .

Before the season

The 22 teams met twice on 42 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División . The last four clubs were relegated.

Cádiz FC , Deportivo Alavés and Malaga FC took part as relegated from the Primera División . From the Segunda División B came UD Las Palmas , SD Ponferradina , UD Salamanca and UD Vecindario .
