The Segunda División 2017/18 (officially LaLiga 1 | 2 | 3 ) was the 87th season of the Spanish second division. The season started on August 18, 2017 and ended on June 16, 2018 with the final of the play-offs. Master became Rayo Vallecano .

Before the season

The 22 teams met twice on 42 match days. The two best teams went straight to the Primera División . The teams in places three to six determined the third promoted team in the play-offs. Reserve teams were not eligible for promotion. The last four clubs were relegated.

Relegated from the Primera División of took Sporting Gijon , Osasuna and Granada CF in part. Moved up from the Segunda División B were Cultural Leonesa , the Lorca FC , Albacete Balompié and FC Barcelona B .

    Play-offs

    In the play-offs, the teams in places three to six of the regular season take part. In the semifinals, the sixth met the third (June 7th and 10th) and the fifth against the fourth (June 6th and 9th), the two winners will play against each other in two final matches (June 13th and 16th, 2018). The winner qualifies as the third promoted player for the Primera División 2018/19 .
