The Segunda División 1981/82 was the 51st season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 6, 1981 and ended on May 23, 1982. Celta Vigo became the master .

Before the season

The 20 teams met twice on 38 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División . The last four clubs were relegated.

Relegated from La Liga took Real Murcia , UD Salamanca and AD Almería part. From the Segunda Division B came Celta Vigo , FC Córdoba , Deportivo La Coruña and RCD Mallorca .

    1 Burgos CF was relegated to Segunda División B due to serious debts. Deportivo Alavés was spared relegation.
    2 AD Almería, UD Levante and Getafe relegated to the fourth-rate Tercera División because they could not pay the players' salaries.
    3 Four points were deducted from AD Almería for the use of an ineligible player in the games against Deportivo La Coruña and RCD Mallorca. The association was subsequently dissolved.
