The Segunda División 1983/84 was the 53rd season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 3, 1983 and ended on May 27, 1984. Castilla CF became the champion .
Before the season
The 20 teams met twice on 38 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División . Reserve teams were not eligible for promotion. The last four clubs were relegated.
Relegated from the Primera División took UD Las Palmas , Celta Vigo and Racing Santander in part. From Segunda División B came Algeciras CF , Bilbao Athletic , FC Granada and CD Tenerife .
