Primera División 1981/82

The Primera División 1982/83 was the 52nd season of the highest Spanish football league . It started on September 4, 1982 and ended on May 1, 1983.

Athletic Bilbao became Spanish champions for the seventh time. The title was only decided on the last day of the match. Since Real Madrid lost 1-0 at Valencia CF on matchday 34, and at the same time won Athletic Bilbao 5-1 at Las Palmas, Bilbao was able to overtake the Madrilenians on the final day and win the championship by one point.

By beating Real Madrid, Valencia CF not only helped to decide the championship, but also saved itself in 15th place ahead of UD Las Palmas . Las Palmas, on the other hand, slipped to a relegation zone for the first time this season due to the defeat against the new champions. The club had to relegate with Celta Vigo and Racing Santander .
