Hipólito "Poli" Rincón Povedano (born April 28, 1957 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

society

Rincón began his career in 1976 in the second team of Real Madrid and moved up to the professional team in 1979 after various loan deals. At the Royal, however, the young talent came in the following two seasons only to 16 missions. In 1981 Rincón therefore left the capital and signed a contract with Betis Sevilla . In Andalusia , the Spaniard was a regular player and thanked for the trust with goals. In the 1982/83 season he was top scorer with 20 goals . In addition, he and his team took part in the UEFA Cup twice. However, towards the end of the 1980s, Betis Sevilla ended the seasons mostly in the lower half of the table. When the club finally relegated in the 1988/89 season, Rincón ended his career.

National team

Rincón played 22 international matches for the Spanish national soccer team and took part in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico . He scored four of his ten goals in the national jersey in a qualifier for the 1984 European Championship against Malta .
