Víctor Unamuno Ibarzabal (born May 21, 1909 in Bergara (Gipuzkoa) , Spain , † May 20, 1988 ) was a Spanish football player .
Career
Unamuno grew up in Bergara , a small community in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa . From the 1928/29 season he was active for Athletic Bilbao . His debut in the Primera División took place on February 10, 1929. In the following four years, the Spaniard won the Copa del Rey four times and the Spanish championship twice with Bilbao .
In 1933 Unamuno moved to Andalusia to Betis Sevilla . In the 1934/35 season he helped the club to win the only championship title in club history with 13 goals this season.
After the Spanish Civil War , Unamuno moved back to Athletic Bilbao for the 1939/40 season and was top scorer with 20 goals . In 1942 he ended his career.
Unamuno played a total of 144 games in the Primera División and scored 106 goals.
