The Segunda División 1954/55 was the 24th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 12, 1954 and ended on April 10, 1955. Between April 24 and June 26, 1955, the relegation games were played. Champions were Cultural Leonesa and Real Murcia .
Before the season
The 32 teams were divided into two groups of 16 teams each. The two group winners were promoted directly to the Primera División . The two second and third place winners played together with the 13th and 14th of the Primera División in the play-off round two other teams who played first class in the following season. The last two clubs were relegated from both groups.
Relegated from the Primera División took CA Osasuna , Real Jaén , Real Oviedo and Real Gijón in part, from the Tercera División came Betis Sevilla , FC Extremadura , Levante UD , CD Juvenil , CD San Fernando , club Sestao and FC Terrassa .
