The Segunda División 1985/86 was the 55th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on August 31, 1985 and ended on May 18, 1986. Real Murcia became the champions .
Before the season
The 20 teams met twice on 38 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División . The last four clubs were relegated.
Relegated from the Primera División took CD Málaga , Elche CF and Real Murcia in part. From the Segunda División B came Albacete Balompié , Deportivo Aragón , Rayo Vallecano and Sestao SC .
