The Segunda División 1941/42 was the eleventh season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 28, 1941 and ended on January 4, 1942. The relegation games were played between January 25 and April 5, 1942. Master has been Betis Sevilla .

Before the season

The 24 teams were divided into three groups of eight teams each. The first two of each group qualified for the promotion round, in which the two best clubs were promoted directly to the Primera División . The third and fourth also had the chance to advance in the play-offs.

The teams that finished third to eighth in the first phase played against relegation in the relegation round.

Relegated from La Liga took Real Zaragoza and Real Murcia in part, newly promoted from the Tercera División were Deportivo Alavés , AD Ferroviaria , CE Constància , SD Ceuta and FC Elche .
