The Segunda División 1949/50 was the 19th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 4, 1949 and ended on April 23, 1950. The relegation games were played between April 30 and June 25, 1950. Champions were Racing Santander and CD Alcoyano .

Before the season

The 32 teams were divided into two groups of 16 teams each. The two best clubs in both groups played in the play-off round for promotion to the Primera División . The two bottom of the table were relegated directly, the second and third from bottom fought relegation against relegation.

Relegated from the Primera División took CD Alcoyano and CE Sabadell part. From the Tercera División came the 18 clubs that each occupied the first three places in the preseason.
