The Segunda División 1967/68 was the 37th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 10, 1967 and ended on May 5, 1968. Between May 26 and June 7, 1968 the relegation games were played. Champions were Deportivo La Coruña and FC Granada .
Before the season
The 32 teams were divided into two groups of 16 teams each. The two group winners were promoted directly to the Primera División . The two runners-up played against the 13th and 14th of the Primera División for promotion.
From the following season, the Segunda División was run on a single track. Therefore, the last eight clubs in each group were relegated directly, while the teams in positions 7 and 8 battled relegation against relegation.
As relegated from the Primera División , FC Granada , Hércules Alicante and Deportivo La Coruña took part. From the Tercera Division came CD Alcoyano , CD Badajoz , Real Jaén and Deportivo Xerez .
