Career

Pederson first played for three years from 1988 to 1991 at the University of Minnesota in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, where he proved to be an offensive and defensive defender . Already after his first year of college who had him Minnesota North Stars in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft selected in the eleventh round at the 217th position.

After he had been selected in the 1991 NHL Dispersal Draft by the newly founded San Jose Sharks from the roster of the Minnesota North Stars franchise , he first joined the US national team for the 1991/92 season before finally joining the Kansas City Blades , then the San Joses farm team , came where at the end of the season he could win the Turner Cup , the championship of the International Hockey League . The American spent the following season on the farm team for the time being, but made it into the Sharks' NHL squad during the season. He remained loyal to these until the end of the 1995/96 season . After his contract expired, he first moved to Japan to Seibu Tetsudo Tokyo , as he was no longer able to play in the NHL after a weak season in 1995/96 and wanted to forego deportation to the minor leagues . But he returned after a short time and only 29 games for the club from Tokyo back to North America, since the Toronto Maple Leafs had made him a contract offer. However, the Maple Leafs used him in the course of the 1996/97 season only once and let him mostly compete in the AHL or IHL.

Pederson left the Maple Leafs franchise in the summer of 1998 and moved to Europe, where he played for the Hannover Scorpions from the DEL in the 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons. In the summer of 2000 he ended his active career.
