Tomislav Ostoja

Tomislav Ostoja (born August 20, 1931 in Split ) is a Croatian sculptor and painter .

Life

Ostoja attended elementary school and high school in Split . He then attended the School of Applied Arts in Split. He studied graphics and switched to sculpture. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb he attended the class of Grga Antunac , Vjekoslav Rukljač , Frano Kršinić and Antun Augustinčić .

There were exhibitions of his works. Ostoja is the creator of public monuments, such as the monument to skiers in Begovo Razdolje , Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević in Zagreb , Marko Orešković in Lički Osik , Alojzije Stepinac in Zagreb and the main monument to the victims of the Homeland War in Vukovar .

His brother is the painter Mirko Ostoja (* 1921).
