Tomislav "Tommy" Stipić (born August 1, 1979 in Tomislavgrad , SFR Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Croatian football coach who also has German citizenship.
Career
Tomislav Stipić worked as a player- coach at SV Denkendorf in the district league 1 Donau / Isar before moving to FC Ingolstadt 04 in 2010 . As a youth coach, he looked after the U-17 team there for three years until he took over the U-23 reserve in the Bavarian regional league in the 2013/14 season .
After Falko Götz was on leave at the beginning of the 2014/15 season , he became the new coach of the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue on September 9, 2014 . He signed a contract until 2016, which he canceled at his own request at the end of the 2015 season after relegating to the third division with Erzgebirge Aue .
On November 9, 2015, Stipić took over the coaching position at the third division club Stuttgarter Kickers as the successor to Horst Steffen . After relegation to the Southwest Football Regionalliga at the end of the 2015/16 season , his contract was no longer valid, and the Stuttgarter Kickers parted ways with him on May 18, 2016.
From February to April 2017, Stipić coached the Chinese third division club Nantong Zhiyun . The collaboration ended due to a different understanding of football and the game idea.
For the 2018/19 season, Stipić took over the U-19 team from Eintracht Frankfurt . On March 6, 2019, he replaced Thorsten Fink at the Swiss first division club Grasshopper Club Zurich . After five games, from which only three points resulted, he was dismissed on April 9, 2019 and replaced by Uli Forte .
