The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The 16 participating teams were divided into two groups of eight ( Groupe A and Groupe B ) and played a simple round-robin tournament in these . The first four of both groups played in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. Teams that met in the preliminary round did not play against each other again in the final round. First, the total of the team points achieved in the preliminary and final rounds (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a defeat, 0 points for a defeat without a fight) decided on the placement, then the difference between winning and losing games ( competitions between participants of the Poule Haute and the Poule Basse were not taken into account) and ultimately the number of winning games.
Game dates
The competitions were held from February 4 to 6, from March 31 to April 3 and from May 4 to 7, 2005. In Groupe A, two competitions were played in Nancy and Mulhouse in the first three rounds , while the fourth to seventh round was organized centrally in Noyon . In Groupe B, two competitions were played in Monaco and Vandœuvre in the first three rounds , while the fourth to seventh rounds were held centrally in Cannes . All the Poule Haute and Poule Basse competitions took place in Port Barcarès .

Groupe A
While NAO could not be driven from the top of the table before the last round, Mulhouse, Clichy and Bischwiller only secured their places in the Poule Haute in the last round.
In the second group, Cannes, Nice and Évry were already certain to participate in the Poule Haute before the last round, with Gonfreville taking fourth place just ahead of Monaco.
NAO entered the finals with a 2 point lead over Cannes. After Cannes won the two three rounds, while NAO drew against Nice, the lead was reduced to one point, but with a clear win in direct comparison, NAO certainly defended the title.
The match between Évry and Mulhouse ended 6-1 for Évry, but was rated 6-0 for Évry.
The competition between Mulhouse and Gonfreville ended 5: 1 for Mulhouse, but was rated 5: 0 for Mulhouse.
Poule Basse
In the relegation round, three relegated teams were determined before the last round: Vandœuvre, Reims and Sautron. Noyon, two points behind Nancy, had little chance of staying up in the league and was indeed relegated as Nancy beat Avignon.
↑ a b For the determination of the 6th and 7th place only the results against the other participants of the Poule Haute were taken into account. In this evaluation, Bischwiller had 14:25 board points, Gonfreville 12:23 board points.
