Torcham ( Pashtun طورخم) is a city in eastern Afghanistan . It is the border town that lies in the province of Nangarhar directly on the country's eastern border with Pakistan . On the other side of the border is the area of ​​the Khyber Agency , a tribal area under federal administration of Pakistan, one of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

Torcham is located on Highway 1, one of the most important Afghan arteries. This connects the city in the west with Jalalabad and Kabul . On the other side of the border is Landi Kotal in Pakistan, five kilometers away . Torcham is connected to Peshawar to Karachi via the Pakistani N-5 National Highway, which is part of the Grand Trunk Road . Due to the transport connections and the location near the Chaiber Pass , Torcham is the most important border town between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the direction of Central Asia .
