Torsten Hofmann

Torsten Hofmann (* 1966 in Görlitz ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Hofmann began his musical training in the Dresden Kreuzchor . After graduating in singing in Berlin, engagements followed at the Landesbühnen Sachsen Radebeul , the Dresden State Operetta , the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and the Württemberg State Opera in Stuttgart .

In recent years he has appeared as Pedrillo ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ), David ( Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg ), Steuermann ( The Flying Dutchman ), Mime ( Das Rheingold und Siegfried ), Tichon ( Katja Kabanova ), Wenzel ( Die sold bride ), Valzacchi ( Der Rosenkavalier ), Brighella ( Ariadne auf Naxos ), Hauptmann, Andres ( Wozzeck ), Buckliger ( The Woman Without a Shadow ) and Knusperhexe ( Hansel and Gretel ).

He also has regular appearances as a concert singer, especially in the great passion music. Guest performances have taken him to opera and concert halls in Essen , Wiesbaden , Dortmund , Cologne , Düsseldorf , Munich , Hanover , Berlin , Dresden , Prague , Naples , Ghent , Antwerp , Madrid , Savonlinna and Amsterdam .
