Salvatore 'Tory' Paul Belleci (born October 30, 1970 in Monterey , California ) is an American model builder and filmmaker . He was best known through the television program MythBusters - Die Wissensjäger .

Early life

Belleci attended the local high school from 1986. After high school, he attended San Francisco State University to become a director . After graduating in 1994, he worked at a small special effects company before moving to Industrial Light & Magic , where he worked with his future colleagues Jamie Hyneman and Grant Imahara . He worked as a model builder in many Hollywood films, such as the Star Wars and the Matrix films . One of his own short films, SandTrooper , was televised.

MythBusters - The Knowledge Hunters

In 2003, Belleci joined Jamie Hyneman's company M5 Industries as a “girl for everything” and mainly worked behind the scenes. From the second season he was part of the construction team. Since the third season he has been run as a comoderator with the other members of the team. In 2005 he was able to bring his former colleague Grant Imahara into the show. At the end of the 2014 season, the deployment of the construction team at the MythBusters ended.

Other broadcasts

Belleci hosted the Discovery Channel shows 'Flying Anvills' in 2011 , and Pumpkin Chumpkin. In 2012 he appeared with Kari Byron on the show Sons of Guns in which the myth of the gas tank exploding from a pistol shot was reissued. In the late summer of 2013, Belleci's own show, Blow it Up! (Eng. Blow it up), in which he appears with his girlfriend, the Canadian presenter Francesca Garigue .
